1. Ellie Goulding was born as Elena Jane Goulding on the 30th of December, 1986 in Hereford, England.

2. She was raised in a small village in rural Herefordshire and learned to play guitar and started writing songs at an early age.

3. Ellie Goulding studied drama at the University of Kent before pursuing a career in music. She was discovered by an agent in the final year of her studies.

4. Her debut single “Under the Sheets” was released in 2009 and reached the top 40 in the UK charts.

5. Her debut album, Lights, was released in 2010 and included the hit singles “Starry Eyed” and “Lights.” The album sold over 850,000 copies in the UK alone.
