Johannesburg based songstress Jamie-Lee Sexton has released her brand-new single “It’s True”, a powerful pop song in a league of its own, with soaring vocals, refreshing melodies, instrumental hooks, uplifting beats and a touch of 80’s pop revival.
The song was written by Jamie-Lee Sexton and produced by one of South Africa’s most renowned Producers, Daniel Baron. “It’s True” is the first single off her upcoming EP Medicine Woman, which will be released later this year. Look out for the exciting, innovative video for the song dropping at the beginning of May. “It’s True” is available on all digital platforms including Apple Music, Deezer and Spotify.

Since her last single “Magic”, Jamie-Lee Sexton has been in the creative space of writing and developing new and catchy melodies to introduce to the world. Taking time off to give the writing process a turn, came in the period when Covid-19, sadly hit SA. But for her this was an opportunity to use this time to discover her new music.

“I needed to live a little, to have something to write about” she exclaims. Her journey with Daniel Baron was an exciting one that led to producing this new body of work, “Working with Daniel was an incredible experience, he was the first producer that truly understood what I wanted to create and achieve, and I feel we accomplished just that.”

This multi-faceted artist plays an array of instruments including, piano, guitar and the ukulele and she is now ready to take the stage on again. With mighty vocals, sharp lyrical skills, and a stage presence that intrigues, be assured to catch, Jamie-Lee live in the upcoming year where she will be accompanied by talented and accomplished musicians.
