Internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Jann Klose has officially released his ambitious new studio album, The Future Trap, today.
Far more than a traditional collection of songs, the record is a deeply immersive concept album, featuring interconnected themes and seamless musical transitions designed to pull listeners into the emotional world of its central character – a figure who serves as both a fictional creation and a reflection of the shared human experience.

“The Future Trap explores the universal struggle of falling into familiar patterns,” explains Jann Klose. “We wrote most of the music with the idea of creating a concept album, creating transitions between songs. I didn’t want it to be just another collection of tracks but rather a listening experience tied to storytelling.”
The album follows a protagonist through an arc of obsession, joy, love, pain, loss, renewal, and ultimately, acceptance. As Jann Klose notes, “The character we created is a bit like me but also a bit like everyone else. Very flawed, very human.”
An All-Star Collaboration Behind The Future Trap
To bring this expansive project to life, Jann Klose collaborated closely with producer and songwriter Marcus Dembinski. The album also features a stellar lineup of musical contributors, including Everett Bradley (Bon Jovi), Marcella Detroit (Shakespears Sister, Eric Clapton), Alphonso Horne (The Late Show with Stephen Colbert), Rachel Flowers, Annie Haslam (Renaissance), and South Africa’s own DJ Cosher.
Everett Bradley highlights the collaborative spirit of the project: “‘Show Me Who You Are’ is the first song I worked on with Jann Klose when he started the new album.
We unconsciously started from a place of complete honesty, sharing our take on the state of the world, and what we thought would make it better. Our concept? What if everyone took off the disguise, showed who they really are, allowed themselves to be drenched in honesty, and watched the magic begin.”
Jann Klose Crafts a Genre-Defying Sonic Journey
According to producer Marcus Dembinski, The Future Trap marks a significant evolution in the artistry of Jann Klose. “Compositionally, The Future Trap is unlike any of Jann Klose’s previous records,” Dembinski says. “While Jann Klose and his collaborators have pulled inspiration from their unique musical histories, he has also simultaneously crafted a narrative through-line that takes the listener on an introspective journey.”
The album unfolds across a genre-defying soundscape that combines Jann Klose’s signature pop vocals and acoustic guitar work with elements of rock, folk, electronic, disco, Latin music, orchestral arrangements, and progressive rock. The result is a body of work that functions less like a standard album and more like a film soundtrack or theatrical production.
Throughout the record, songs evolve seamlessly into one another. The electronic disco pulse of “Love Is a Verb” gives way to the complex layers of “Conjugation,” while the progressive rock energy of “The Lost Kingdom” dissolves into the melancholic atmosphere of “Vignette.” The epic rock finale, “Over and Over,” concludes with a sweeping orchestral “Outro,” perfectly reinforcing the album’s cyclical themes of transformation and rebirth.
With The Future Trap, Jann Klose delivers his most sonically adventurous and emotionally resonant body of work to date – a record designed not only to be heard, but to be fully experienced. The Future Trap is available now on all major streaming platforms.
