Jann Klose Releases New Single: “Future Trap”

Internationally acclaimed artist Jann Klose has officially returned to the spotlight with his compelling new single, “Future Trap.” The track serves as a bold, sonically rich preview of his highly anticipated forthcoming album, The Future Trap, which is scheduled for global release on 29 May 2026.

A dynamic collaboration between Klose and producer-songwriter Marcus Dembinski, the single represents a rare creative partnership.

Jann Klose

The duo co-wrote and co-produced the track, remarkably performing every single instrument on the final recording. The result is a genre-defying soundscape that seamlessly fuses reggaeton-inspired rhythms with West African percussion, 80s-style synths, and raw rock guitar textures.

The journey of “Future Trap” began years ago during the sessions for Klose’s previous record, Surrender. While a vocal hook from that era didn’t quite fit the previous project, it remained at the back of Dembinski’s mind. When the pair revisited the idea in 2025, they built a groove that sampled elements of Jann’s musical past to create something that feels both nostalgic and entirely fresh.

For Klose, working at The Koop Studios in Irvington, New York, along with sessions in Manhattan and Astoria, allowed for a layered recording process.

He credits his fluid connection with Dembinski for the track’s high energy, noting that the producer is the first he has collaborated with across multiple albums, allowing them to find a unique creative rhythm.

Beyond its infectious beat, “Future Trap” dives into the universal human experience of falling back into familiar, often detrimental patterns. The song follows a character who repeatedly makes the same mistakes, a theme so powerful it eventually dictated the narrative direction of the entire upcoming album.

This honest storytelling is a hallmark of Klose’s work. Raised across Kenya, South Africa, Germany, and the United States, his music naturally reflects a global perspective. This multicultural upbringing has resonated worldwide, with his recent releases amassing over 10 million streams and achieving significant airplay on Top 40 radio in both the US and South Africa.

Jann Klose has a Legacy of Diverse Artistry

Jann Klose’s career is one of remarkable variety. From serving as the singing voice of Tim Buckley in the film Greetings from Tim Buckley to having his music featured on MTV and in films alongside legends like Quincy Jones, Klose has consistently moved between different creative worlds. His stage credits include Broadway touring productions like Jesus Christ Superstar and The Who’s Tommy.

His collaborative list is equally impressive, spanning icons such as Pat Benatar, John Oates, and Suzanne Vega. When he isn’t in the studio, he connects with the industry through his popular podcast, Making Sound with Jann Klose, where he has hosted over 140 episodes featuring voices like synth-pop icon Howard Jones.

With the release of “Future Trap,” Klose isn’t just dropping a new song; he is ushering in an ambitious new era. The single sets a high bar for the 2026 album, promising a collection of music that pushes technical boundaries while remaining anchored in the heartfelt, authentic songwriting his fans have come to love.
