Long before the massive success of Neon Dreams, JUNO Award-winning frontman Frank Kadillac was just a kid in the back seat of his mother’s car, demanding she turn up the radio whenever “Sunday Morning” by K-OS came on.
Fast forward twenty years, and that exact song has found its way back to him, this time as an invitation to lend his voice to a brand-new reimagining.

A Full-Circle Collaboration
What started as a bootleg remix by Vancouver producer SEJO ILAW and a call from Toronto DJ and producer 4KORNERS has evolved into a massive full-circle collaboration.
The trio teamed up to give the Canadian classic a fresh new life, infusing the track with Afro House rhythms, melodic electronic production, and an infectious global dance energy.
For South African fans who already adore Neon Dreams, this new rendition of “Sunday Morning” offers a completely different side of the band. It seamlessly connects Frank Kadillac’s deeply personal relationship with the song to the musical world of two Canadian producers whose work has been heavily shaped by South Africa’s influential electronic music culture.
Deepening the Emotional Connection
For Frank Kadillac, the track represents far more than just a standard cover. It is a piece of his childhood returning in a completely new form.
He recalls begging his mother to turn up the volume as soon as the iconic hook played on the radio. Nearly two decades later, when his friend called about working on a new version, the idea quickly blossomed into something deeply personal.
Revisiting the track as an adult, the frontman was struck by the profound depth of the lyrics. While the younger version of himself was moved solely by the beat and melody, he now finds himself moved by the words.
He describes the song’s central character as someone who is living his best life but is still ready for a new chapter, essentially escaping a self-created matrix.
Bridging Global Dance and South African Culture
That personal connection became the emotional foundation for the new recording, while 4KORNERS and SEJO ILAW transformed the production for a global dance audience.
The collaboration carries a strong connection to South Africa. SEJO ILAW has spent years building solid relationships within the local electronic music community through his Vancouver event series Sweet & Sawa, while 4KORNERS brings over 15 years of international DJ experience to the table.
Meanwhile, Neon Dreams has developed a dedicated South African following through hit releases and headline tours, with Frank Kadillac now permanently residing in Cape Town.
Ultimately, the frontman believes that music is meant to be shared. He hopes this fresh interpretation will introduce “Sunday Morning” to an entirely new generation, turning the track into an anthem of freedom once again.
The collaborative single officially dropped on Sunday, 11 October 2026. Check out the visualizer for the track below:
