Neon Dreams Release New Album: “Love Child Baby Dolphin”

Canadian duo and honorary South African’s, Neon Dreams have dropped their new album Love Child Baby Dolphin.

This album is a collection of songs written and recorded in SA and features their chart-topping singles, “Little Dance” and “It’s All Good” alongside a fresh batch of new singles dipped in that Neon Dreams flavour we have come to know and love. An album that has been in the works since their first trip back in 2021, Love Child Baby Dolphin is well worth the wait!

Neon Dreams

As far as unique titles go, this one is right up there. Neon Dreams Front-man, Frank Kadillac explains it

“If I explain the name it might take away the beauty of how I found it but I’ll say this if you smile when you read this title (then) this album was made for you. Love Child Baby Dolphin is a frequency channel of sunshine music you can always tune into.”

An album that radiates love and sunshine, like the band itself, is bound to be filled with hit after hit for you to add to your playlist.

Frank tells us the story behind one of the tracks on the album…

“There was a day when I was meditating on a rock and realised something that I couldn’t get over. When we sit on a rock it’s a clean surface, but if the rock was flipped upside down, no one would want to sit on it. It’s full of bugs and mud but it’s still a part of the rock. I realised we are just like that rock, and that side of us covered in pain is what’s holding us up and exists in everyone we know. That realisation turned into the song “The Other Side of You”.”

Frank tells us what the best part of working on the album was

“Music is just a reflection of us as humans of what is, what could be and what was. It has this power to uplift anyone from their worst day. The best part about making this was the moments that inspired each song. Every single song is just a memory of some beautiful (thing) happening in my life and I’m so happy to share it with everyone.”

Frank and Adrian are no strangers to the South African music scene and have continued to cement themselves in the industry here. Neon Dreams have toured the country a number of times over the past few years and have found themselves landing on the lineups for some of the biggest music festivals including a headline show alongside breakout star, Will Linley and the talented Majozi at the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts back in December. They have played countless shows over the past few years but there is always at least one that goes down as the best show.

Frank shares a story about a recent show that Neon Dreams played

“We played this show recently in this small town called East London. It was only 200 people but it was so wild – these guys were having so much fun (that) they ended up breaking the floor.”

What started out as taking a leap of faith to come to South Africa has turned into a decision that changed their lives.

Frank explains how his life has changed

“I loved growing up in Canada. Through the good and the bad, It taught me a lot about myself and it made me who I am, but sometimes you have to leave your environment to discover who you truly are and grow spiritually. The decision to come to South Africa was one that changed my life. What I discovered here was love. Love for people, love for myself, and love for God.”

And what does Neon Dreams want their fans to take away from the album?

“The fears you have may seem massive but when you take a step back, you might just see how small they are… small enough to just walk over it and enjoy the rest of the sunshine you have left because, after all, it’s just a little dance under the sun.”

Neon Dreams‘ Love Child Baby Dolphin is a body of work that aims to spread love, positivity and to help others find their true path. Stream the album HERE.
