The first edition of Park Acoustics for 2016 took place on the 31st of January. Like many Park Acoustics events before this one, this one turned out to be a fun day in the sun and a lekker crowd showed up to enjoy the sunshine and the music. Matthew Mole was the headlining act on the day.
First up was Maddy Behrens, followed by Mind Pool and Josh Kempen. I have to admit that the music was soothing and climbed into a special place of my soul, but I wasn’t really paying attention.
Next up were Monark and I have to say that they are extremely talented, even though their music doesn’t really fall into my taste genre. I’m definitely predicting big things for these okes.
The last act of the day was Matthew Mole. This boytjie (who is now based in Johannesburg) has been making waves in the SA Music industry since 2012 (when he won that year’s edition of Converse Get Out Of The Garage) and his fan base has grown immensely since then. It’s always great having a sing along during one of his sets and this one was no exception.
The next edition of Park Acoustics takes place on the 28th of February and will feature performances by James Tuft (Holiday Murray), Late Night Fox, Lost & Found, Tidal Waves and aKING. Click here to get your tickets.
