Review: Fourth Son South – “Another Mile” EP

Fourth Son South is a fresh band straight out of Gauteng, South Africa. New? …. Hmmmmm …. maybe not brand new and most certainly the members have heaps of experience playing in many other well-known bands over many years.

The band is a high energetic 4 piece Rock outfit and their sound is recognisable with intensely catchy
melodic heavy grooves, smooth vocals and driving Rock bass and drums.

The band’s style of classic Rock and popular covers makes them a live act that can cater for any crowd! …. but keep in mind they are an original act with their very own material.

Their gig jaunt has included numerous performances, from festivals like STRAB, Misty Waters, FORR, Plush Fest and venues like Platteland, The Good Luck Bar, Hard Rock Cafe, Aandklas, Café Barcelona, Ridgebacks, Rusty Hook, Cockpit Brewhouse, Sinkshack, Edge’s Corner Music Bar, Rockwood Theatre, Klitsgras, Malboer Rumours Lounge, Sinkshack, Railways Cafe and others.

More info about Fourth Son South

Fourth Son South was originally formed by Dutch born Peter Toussaint, a maestro on guitar and definitely one of the best in South Africa.

After bringing out his solo album (“One Day”) in 2018, he brought together bass player Franco Jamneck, drummer Jason Venter and rhythm guitarist Carel Viljoen. Under the “old” name Peter T. Band they have toured several times and today they are regarded as one of the most sought after Rock bands in the industry.

At the end of 2019 Fourth Son South started recording their first EP “Another Mile” which was released on 15 April 2020 and is available to stream on all digital media platforms. “Secret Place” is currently the leading track and has already received some airplay from the likes of Martin Bester from Jacaranda 94.2 as well as MixFM 93.8.

    My review of “Another Mile”

SA Music EP”. It has a lekker vibe to it. “Secret Place” has to be favourite song on the EP, simply because it’s such a vibey tune.
