The English Premier League has been in existence since 1992. Many soccer stars hit their gym in the best workout shoes for men, in a bid to grace this division.

The entire world is dazzled by English Premier League goals of the week, assists, saves, defensive tackles, comebacks, and reactions from coaching staff. Several Premier League squads have taken this stage by storm and ruled for a while, and eventually dethroned by an opponent.

Nevertheless, do you know who our Premier League all-time top scorers are? Do not worry; this article will give you our top 10.

1. Alan Shearer

Any talk of prolific Premier League goal scorers is never complete without mentioning Alan. A mercurial Englishman, he romped into fame during his time with fallen giants Blackburn Rovers. Alan won the golden boot two seasons in a row with Blackburn Rovers before joining Newcastle United in 1996.

Alan Shearer

He earned a third golden boot in his first season with The Magpies. He spent a decade at St James’ Park and would retire after 441 appearances, in which he scored a breathtaking 260 Premier League goals. Alan is also known for netting a season-high 34 goals. What a man!

2. Wayne Rooney

Wayne’ Wazza’ Rooney comes second in this list of our Premier League all-time goal scorers. Rooney is known for his time in Manchester United, whom he joined as a youngster in 2004 from childhood club Everton. Primarily a center forward, Rooney was a versatile player upfront.

Wayne Rooney

He spent 14 seasons with the Red Devils, winning it five times among other significant honors. He left Manchester for his former side Everton in 2017, before eventually joining Major League Soccer side DC United. After 208 goals and 103 assists in 491 appearances, Premier League fans were thrilled by his services.

3. Andrew Cole

A third Englishman, Andy Cole, wraps up our top 3. Andy made his debut in 1993/94 season with former giants Newcastle United. He flourished with The Magpies and won a Premier League golden boot with a record-tier 34 goals in his maiden season, while only 22 years old!

Andy Cole

Andy won the English Premier League five times with heavyweights Manchester United in six seasons, between 1995 and 2001. Unmistakably, this was during an era orchestrated by veteran coach Sir Alex Ferguson. Andy played for several sides before retiring with 187 goals in 414 Premier League appearances.

4. Frank Lampard

Current Chelsea FC Coach Frank James Lampard featured three sides; West Ham United, Chelsea, and Manchester City. However, it was his time with London outfit ‘The Blues’ that shot him to stardom. After a 13-season stint at Chelsea,

Lampard had won 3 Premier League titles amongst other accolades. He finally retired as a prime league football player from Manchester City with 177 goals and 102 assists.

5. Thierry Henry

Thierry Henry is probably the reason why Premier League shirt sponsors boosted their business. Loved by many and hated by few, he was Arsenal’s main man and the player of the season as the famous “Invincible” The Gunners romped into victory in 2003/04.

Thierry Henry

After nine consecutive seasons with Arsenal, Thierry had won the golden boot four times, player of the month four times, player of the season 2 times and two titles. Thierry hangs his Premier League boots with 175 goals.

6. Sergio Aguero

The mercurial Argentine striker is in his 9th Premier League season, having joined Manchester City from Atletico Madrid in 2011. Aguero is currently at 172 goals, and more notably, he is still a household name among the Citizens.

7. Robbie Fowler

At a tender 18 years, Robbie stepped up the Merseyside tempo to be counted as one of Liverpool greats, alongside Kenny Dalglish and Steven Gerrard. Robbie was a lethal finisher, amassing 163 goals in 379 appearances.

Robbie Fowler

Although he was unlucky never to win a Premier League title, his season tally of 28 goals in 38 appearances of 1995/96 is still memorable at Anfield.

8. Jermain Defoe

When they say hard work pays, we always salute the legend that is Jermain Defoe. Defoe was still an underdog for much of his playing career.

Jermain Defoe

He featured for a handful of English Premier League sides, and most times he would come in as a substitute. However, he has outshone that dusk and has bagged a record 24 goals as a replacement. His tally is at 162.

9. Michael Owen

After stints at Liverpool, Newcastle, Manchester United and a doomed spell at Stoke City, 150 English Premier League goals are befitting for Michael Owen. His spell at Liverpool was youthful, but with Premier League shirt sponsors Northern Rock at Newcastle, Michael cemented his legacy.

10. Les Ferdinand

A less known Les Ferdinand caps off our top 10 English Premier League all-time top scorers list. Successful stints at Queen’s Park Rangers and Newcastle between 1992 and 1997 were almost enough to earn him this glory. He retired a goal less than the prolific Michael Owen did, after 359 Premier League appearances.
