On August 30, 2024, Wimpy launched its R19.90 Cappu-cci-no special with a unique twist: a fusion of coffee-making and beatboxing. The event took place at Mall of Africa in Johannesburg, where patrons were treated to an unexpected performance.

After placing their orders and sharing their favorite songs with waitstaff, the restaurant’s coffee machine was transformed into a DJ booth. Renowned beatboxers Morgan Beatbox, Remix, and Thato Titisi then performed live, beatboxing the customers’ song requests.

Jodi Law, brand manager at Wimpy South Africa, remarked, “Morgan Beatbox, Remix, and Thato Titisi captivated everyone by turning our Cappu-cci-no special into a vibrant musical experience, mixing some of South Africa’s favorite hits while our baristas prepared the short caps.”

She added, “The familiar sound of a cappu-cci-no being made is closely tied to the rich taste of the espresso-based drink. We embraced this connection and collaborated with the beatboxers to freestyle customer song requests, promoting our R19.90 special in a fun and engaging way.”

Law concluded, “As we anticipate the last cold snap before summer, we’re excited to offer this hot special to keep everyone warm and set the stage for the festive season and Dezemba.”
