Australian-born, Nashville-based singer-songwriter Zoee has officially released her compelling new single, “Don’t Let Me Go.” If she hasn’t crossed your radar yet, this release is set to change that instantly.
For anyone who has ever experienced the sting of being ghosted, the track will feel uncomfortably familiar. Zoee manages to capture that specific, painful emotional arc with disarming precision: the initial intensity of falling for someone, the deafening silence that follows, and the audacity of that same person returning as if nothing ever happened.

“This song is about that specific kind of person who makes you feel like everything, ghosts you like you were nothing, and then has the nerve to come back,” Zoee shares regarding the narrative inspiration. “I wanted the listener to feel that whole arc.
The fall, the silence, and then watching someone unravel in front of you, asking for what they threw away.” It is precisely this brand of honest, unflinching storytelling that has earned Zoee a rapidly growing global audience. Her songwriting doesn’t bother to ask if you can relate; it operates on the certainty that you already do.
The journey of Zoee is every bit as compelling as the lyrics she writes
Growing up on the south coast of Australia in a house devoid of a television, where the only entertainment was a radio and a record player, music wasn’t just a hobby – it was the air she breathed. “It was a big family with lots of love and lots of music,” she recalls. That deep-seated connection has never left her, even today: “I often find myself singing along to a song in the store, often a little too loudly, without even realising it. Music finds me.”
However, the road to Nashville was anything but straightforward. Zoee and her family made the bold decision to uproot their lives and move to the UK to pursue her career, only to arrive and find that their pre-arranged rented home was nothing like what had been advertised online.
“We ended up living in the car for three months while we looked for another place, all while busking on the streets of Glasgow and Edinburgh and taking day jobs to make ends meet.” she shares.
For many, that chapter could have ended the dream. Instead, Zoee used it as the foundation for her career. Today, based in the heart of country music’s capital, she is collaborating with GRAMMY and CMA-nominated songwriters, boasting millions of streams and multiple awards to her name.
She stands as a vivid example of what happens when raw talent meets the kind of unwavering determination that refuses to take “no” for an answer.
“Being able to share my music with audiences around the world, including South Africa, is a dream come true,” she says. “All I can hope for as an artist is that my music connects with someone in some way.” You can stream “Don’t Let Me Go” on Spotify and all other major digital platforms.
