Halloween Movies: What Are The Best Ones Of All Time?

What are the Top 10 Halloween Movies of all time? Today we answer this question. It’s a fact that Halloween is deeply adored by all Americans who love to get dressed into scary creatures and give tons of candies to neighbour kids.

In anticipation of the holiday, I have made a list of the top 10 films that best convey the spirit of this holiday – dark fairy tales, funny horror films and films with a plot related to Halloween. So let’s get immersed into the magic atmosphere!

Here’s my list of the Top 10 Halloween Movies of All Time:

    1. The Addams Family (1991)

The comics about the Addams family were filmed so often that one can get confused with films and TV shows easily. The 1991 version directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, however, is yet to be surpassed. The film is quoted till nowadays and the Wednesday Addams look, became one of the most popular Halloween costumes.

The film itself speaks about family values. Gomez Addams cannot deal with the loss of his brother Fester, who disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle a couple of years ago.

His cunning and greedy lawyer finds a weird man who looks exactly like Fester, and decides to conduct the scam of the century, passing off the rogue for the lost brother of Gomez.

    2. Beetlejuice (1988)

A mystical horror film directed by Tim Burton that won the Oscar award and brought worldwide fame to Tim Burton. Beetlejuice is a classic of funny horror movies and a great choice for a Halloween movie.

The plot revolves around a recently deceased young couple, who become ghosts that haunt their former home, and a hideous, insidious demon named Beetlejuice, who tries to scare away new residents.

Beetlejuice has aged pretty damn well. I really hope that someone doesn’t decide to remake this film. That would totally fudge things up.

    3. The Blair Witch Project (1999)

In October 1994, three student filmmakers disappeared into the woods of Maryland while filming a documentary … A year later, their footage was found. The authors of this Halloween movie invested in the production 40 thousand dollars, but millions were spent on advertising.

The movie was filmed with amateur cameras in the form of a documentary tape, allegedly composed of materials filmed by the missing students. Filming took about eight days. To make the actors feel tired and irritated, producers gave them less food every day of filming.

    4. Casper (1995)

A kind and easy-flowing movie for the whole family. The main character of the film is a friendly little ghost named Casper, who does not want to resemble his hooligan brothers.

His friendship with teenage girl Kat helps her and her father, Dr. Harvey, cope with the dangers that await them in a haunted house. The laws of friendship and a kind heart make Kasper sacrifice the opportunity to become human again for the happiness of his friends.

    5. Coraline (2009)

Puppet animated film based on Neil Gaiman’s children’s story Coraline at Laika Entertainment studio. The latest special effects in combination with an interesting story in the animated 3D adventure “Coraline in the world of nightmares” will adorn your Halloween evening!

Having moved with her parents to a new home, Carolina discovers a secret door leading to the Other World! What will happen next? You’ll see.

    Coraline - Halloween Movies

The film is the first full-length puppet cartoon originally shot in 3D. Named the Best Film of 2009 according to the American Film Institute, the cartoon was nominated for the Oscar.

    6. The Conjuring (2013)

At a time when new horror films are trying to push the boundaries of the genre over and over again, sometimes it can be nice to return to the familiar spaces of old-fashioned “horror films. “.

And here, of course, there is no better option than to turn to the work of James Wang – specifically, to his two “Conjures”, telling about the real family couple Warrens, exorcists and experts on all kinds of devilry.

Wang’s works show that even old techniques and clichés can be used with taste: you will not see anything fundamentally new in The Conjuring, but this does not make it less exciting. It’s definitely one of the best Halloween movies of all time.

    7. The Crow (1994)

On the night before Halloween, robbers killed musician Eric Draven and his fiancée. A year later, Eric rose from the dead to properly congratulate his murderers on this holiday.

Most remember The Crow as the cult film of Gothic culture, on the set of which Brandon Lee, who played Eric, has tragically died. However, this does not mean that the picture is sad and depressing. The Crow is not only a dark Gothic movie, but also a full-fledged action movie with fights, chases and shootings. I recommend it to those who will celebrate Halloween with a twinkle and good hard rock.

    8. Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)

Who doesn’t know the famous Harry Potter? The Harry Potter fans would eagerly erase the memories to watch it again and again so why not spend a Halloween night with popcorn in front of the best film of the franchise.

In the third part of the film adaptation of the bestseller about a young wizard, the beloved heroes – Harry Potter, Ron and Hermione – return to their third year at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This time, they must uncover the secret of the prisoner who escaped from the sinister prison of Azkaban, whose presence in the wild creates mortal danger for Harry.

    9. Halloween (1978)

Halloween is an American horror film directed by John Carpenter. The film follows the serial killer Michael Myers, who escaped from the mental hospital, where he was placed after he had killed his older sister at the age of six, and returned to his hometown of Haddonfield.

Halloween is considered a classic horror that has had a huge impact on the entire horror genre. In 2006, the Library of Congress listed Halloween on the National Film Register as a film “of cultural, historical, or aesthetic significance.” It’s definitely worthy to be on a list of the best Halloween Movies.

    10. Halloween (2018)

The film is a direct sequel to the original 1978 film by John Carpenter and will ignore the events of all existing sequels of the cult horror franchise.

The release of the eleventh film of the cult horror franchise Halloween was timed to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the already classic first part of 1978. The famous masked serial killer who wielded on the eve of All Saints’ Day is back again, as uncontrollable evil always returns.

Well, there you have it, my list of the Top 10 Halloween Movies of All Time. Which film belongs on this list or which film doesn’t? Leave a comment below and let me know.
