Craig Lucas Releases New EP: “Tip Of My Tongue”

South African singer-songwriter Craig Lucas is breaking new ground with the release of his fearless new EP, Tip of My Tongue – a six-track collection that’s honest, chaotic, funny, heartbreaking, and profoundly human. With this project, Craig sheds expectations and finally speaks his truth, unfiltered and unapologetic.

“This EP is everything I’ve been biting back for years,” Craig shares. “It’s messy. It’s raw. It’s me without a filter – and without the pressure to be anyone but myself.”

Craig Lucas - Tip Of My Tongue

Best known as the 2017 winner of The Voice South Africa, Craig has evolved far beyond his mainstream pop beginnings. Tip of My Tongue is not a traditional follow-up album, but rather an artistic outburst – a creative purge written without overthinking or chasing commercial success.

It’s a sonic exhale, a celebration of imperfection, and an open invitation to feel everything.

Vulnerability Meets Variety: A Look at the Tracks

Across six stylistically diverse yet emotionally cohesive songs, Craig dives into themes of love, grief, sexuality, identity, and the beauty of emotional chaos.

“Falling in Love” – A sharp, tongue-in-cheek anthem for hopeless romantics who love too fast and too hard. With clever lyrics and upbeat indie-pop energy, it’s what Craig calls “therapy to dance to.”

“Love You for the Last Time” – A cinematic 80s-style slow dance soaked in longing, co-written and produced by Jono Greyling. It captures that final plea for connection with someone you never really had.

“High, Drunk & Horny” – Playful and provocative, this track transforms Craig’s past battles with addiction into a cheeky pop confession that heals through humour.

“FUCK BOY” (feat. Cubbi) – A punk-pop explosion of bratty 2000s teen movie nostalgia. It’s loud, gritty, and self-aware — an anthem for anyone who’s fallen for the wrong person too many times.

“Cool on the Internet” – The song that sparked the EP’s concept, it critiques online perfection culture with theatrical flair and dark, swaggering production.

“Yours” – The emotional heart of the EP and Craig’s most personal track to date. Written in memory of his late father and brother, the song was released on March 6 in tandem with the launch of The Warren & Arlene Lucas Foundation, which supports youth development in their honour.

A New Chapter for Craig Lucas

Tip of My Tongue marks a clear turning point in Craig’s creative evolution. Written and recorded with new collaborators like Dolf Willemse, Blake Sayer (Cubbi), and Jono Greyling, the EP gave Craig the freedom to explore his artistry without constraints.

“For the first time, I’m okay with not knowing exactly who I am. That uncertainty used to scare me—but now, I see it as freedom,” he says. “This EP is a celebration of that. There’s beauty in the mess.”

With Tip of My Tongue, Craig Lucas invites listeners into that beautiful mess — and proves that vulnerability, when embraced, can be a powerful act of defiance.
