Cape Town-born pop artist Eva Marie returns today with her explosive new single, “Keep My Name Out Your Mouth,” an unapologetic breakup anthem that transforms post-relationship drama into a bold statement of confidence, self-worth, and moving forward.
Following the success of her breakthrough single “IT GIRL” – which reached #1 on the 5FM Pop Chart and spent five consecutive weeks in the Top 5 – Eva Marie continues to cement herself as one of South Africa’s most exciting emerging pop artists. Her latest release pairs razor-sharp lyricism with infectious, hip-hop-infused pop production.
Playing like the text you send right before hitting block, “Keep My Name Out Your Mouth” calls out an ex who cannot stop talking about her despite ending the relationship.
Rather than dwelling on heartbreak, the track flips the traditional narrative on its head, celebrating the freedom that comes with walking away knowing your worth.
Eva Marie explains
“I wanted to make a breakup anthem that feels bold, cheeky and empowering. One that lets you laugh instead of looking back.”
Leaning further into hip-hop-inspired production than previous releases, the track is driven by punchy drums, heavy bass, layered synths, and rhythmic vocal delivery.
Lyrically, it is packed with witty one-liners and tongue-in-cheek callouts, such as “Funny that you think that s**t would faze me when you’re the one obsessin’ on a daily.”
After the second chorus, the song takes an unexpected emotional turn, giving way to swelling strings and layered vocals that build into a euphoric, cinematic finale—marking another milestone on the road to her highly anticipated debut EP.
“Keep My Name Out Your Mouth” is available now on all major digital streaming platforms. You can stream/download it HERE.
