More info about “Guns For Hire”

“Guns For Hire” is a song zoning in on the concept of a person’s creativity being exploited for purposes other than what the creator intended it for. By using the metaphor of a mercenary or “gun” for hire, the song compares the similarities between this mercenary and a creative’s struggles. The song focuses on the after-effects and feelings that a creative has to deal with after offering up their art, in the same way, that a mercenary would deal with the realisation of the senseless violence carried out for a cause that they never believed in.
