Rising rock artist Keanan Eksteen is further cementing his place as one of South Africa’s most compelling contemporary voices with the release of his latest single.
Fronting a dynamic band known for their commanding stage presence and high-energy delivery, Eksteen continues to bridge the gap between classic rock sensibilities and a sharp, modern edge.

Since forming in 2021, the group has been on a rapid upward trajectory. With three European tours already under their belt and experience sharing stages with heavyweights like Jeremy Loops, Fokofpolisiekar, and Die Heuwels Fantasties, the band has proven they can hold their own in any arena.
The Art of Emotional Risk
The new single, “Burnin’ Heart” dives headfirst into the complexities of vulnerability and the inherent risk of passion. It explores the heavy reality of offering everything to someone, only to face the uncertainty of whether it will be accepted.
As Keanan Eksteen puts it, the song is about the raw sensation of “ripping your own heart out” for someone else – capturing the end of a story right at its beginning.
Produced by Jeremy Farber, the recording process was defined by a natural creative flow. Farber was immediately drawn to the track’s striking opening line, “This is how it ends,” noting the powerful vocal dynamic between Keanan and Armand that drives the chorus. The result is a track that feels both effortless and intentionally powerful.

Keanan Eksteen is building a Rock Legacy
This latest release follows a string of successes for Eksteen, including the EP Forever and the full-length album Golden Fever. The band’s connection with their audience is undeniable; their previous single “Dixie Clouds” has already surpassed half a million video views, a testament to their growing global fanbase.
From intimate club sets to major festival stages, Keanan Eksteen and his band are delivering unforgettable live experiences. This new single isn’t just another track – it’s a signal that their journey is only gaining speed.
