    Today I’m featuring some Maya Angelou quotes. For those of you who did not know, Maya Angelou is an American author and poet. She was born in 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri in the USA.

    She has published six autobiographies, five books of essays, numerous books of poetry, and is credited with a long list of plays, movies, and television shows. She is one of the most decorated writers of her generation. She’s also won dozens of awards and has received over thirty honorary doctoral degrees.

    Maya Angelou inspires me to improve my skills as a wordsmith, blogger, writer and person. Nuff said. This lady might be over 83 years old, but she’s definitely not an idiot.

    Here are some quotes from Maya Angelou to inspire you:

    1. “Achievement brings its own anticlimax.”

    2. “All great achievements require time.”

    3. “Bitterness is like cancer. It eats upon the host. But anger is like fire. It burns it all clean.”

    4. “Courage is the most important of all the virtues, because without courage you can’t practice any other virtue consistently. You can practice any virtue erratically, but nothing consistently without courage.”

    5. “History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again.”

    6. “I long, as does every human being, to be at home wherever I find myself.”

    7. “I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life’s a bitch. You’ve got to go out and kick ass.”

    There you have it, some words of inspiration from Maya Angelou. I hope this inspires you to achieve greater things in life.
