Ntokzin, Azana, and De Mthuda have joined forces to release “Bawo”, a deeply emotional Amapiano track that stands apart from the usual dancefloor-ready hits.
With smooth log drums, haunting chord progressions, and Azana’s spine-tingling vocals, “Bawo” (meaning Father in Zulu) is a heartfelt plea for guidance during life’s toughest moments. It’s Amapiano with a message—raw, honest, and deeply relatable.
Amapiano with Emotional Depth
Unlike typical party-driven Amapiano tracks, “Bawo” resonates on a personal level. Azana’s evocative delivery feels like a prayer, carrying the weight of struggle, hope, and perseverance. It’s the song you play when you’re stuck, exhausted, and still holding on.
De Mthuda, celebrated for platinum-certified projects like Ace of Spades and hits such as “Shesha Geza”, brings his signature groove and layered production.
Ntokzin adds his unmistakable soul-stirring style, creating a track that is both meditative and danceable. Together, they craft a sound that reaches beyond the clubs and into the heart.
Azana’s Vocal Mastery Shines
Fresh off the success of her platinum-certified single “Ngize Ngifike” and her chart-topping debut album Ingoma, Azana proves once again why she’s considered one of South Africa’s most powerful voices.
Her rich, neo-soul-inspired vocals glide effortlessly over the production, making “Bawo” as emotionally impactful as it is sonically captivating.
