Indie sensation Pinwheel Valley has just released their latest single, “Werewolf”, on June 10th via Hot Soap Records.

With over 2 million streams across platforms and features in CLASH Magazine, NOTION, Earmilk, and Billboard Argentina — plus airplay on BBC Radio London and BBC Radio Sheffield — the band has steadily built a reputation for emotional depth and sonic ambition.

Their single “Your Superman” debuted at No. 13 on the US iTunes Alternative Chart, while the award-winning videos for “Willow” and “Abduction” earned Best Music Video honours at international festivals including the New York Film Awards, Vegas Movie Awards, and the Swedish International Film Festival.

In 2024, the band signed with Levantine Music for the release of their EP Reverie and were later named Finalists in the International Acoustic Music Awards (AAA/Alternative) for “Counting On You”.

With standout performances at Fengaros Festival (2023), Indie Week Toronto (2017), and the Mayor of London’s Big Busk (2014), as well as early tours through Vancouver, Toronto, and Seattle, Pinwheel Valley continues to carve a distinctive path in the global alternative scene.

More info about Pinwheel Valley

Led by Jordanian-Canadian singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Qais Khoury, Pinwheel Valley is a project rooted in introspection and global influences. Qais’ vision blossoms into a full live band featuring Stephanos Marangos (lead/supporting guitar), Max Daniels (bass/Ableton), and either Stephanos Meletiou or Phrangiskos Petrisis on drums.

Originally known as KAIS, the project has evolved into a genre-defying blend of Indie Soul, mellow Alt-Rock, and Folktronica — drawing inspiration from artists like Jeff Buckley, Bon Iver, James Blake, and Radiohead.

From writing songs at age thirteen to studying production at London’s Point Blank Music School, Qais’ musical journey has always defied convention.

Raised in a household that echoed with his father’s renditions of Sinatra and Elton John, and shaped by a cross-continental life across Amman, London, Vancouver, and now Cyprus (where he runs Hot Soap Studios Ltd.), his work explores the tension between inner truth and societal pressure.

“Werewolf”, sure to resonate with fans of Coldplay, Jeff Buckley, and Nick Murphy, was written and produced by Qais Khoury, co-mixed with Andreas Matheou, and mastered by Robb Robinson (known for work with Jason Mraz, Alan Parsons, Angels & Airwaves, and Switchfoot).

The track opens with delicate, piano-driven balladry and ambient guitar work that wraps around Qais’ emotionally charged vocals. As it gradually builds toward a cinematic crescendo, “Werewolf” transforms into an anthem of quiet desperation — channeling the emotive power of early 2000s Coldplay with a visceral edge.

“‘Werewolf’ is the closest thing I ever wrote to a Coldplay song,” says Qais. “It’s about the average working-class man who feels like an outcast — a man with an inescapable, uncontrollable urge to turn violent and destructive, much like a werewolf. This transformation is driven by the neglect and mistreatment of those who could help but choose not to. He’s constantly torn between the good and evil within himself.”

With “Werewolf”, Pinwheel Valley offers more than just a single — they deliver a raw, resonant story that speaks to alienation, frustration, and the hunger for transformation.
