Comprising of guitarist Ron Van Herpen (Astrosoniq, Molasses, The Devil’s Blood), bassist Rob Zim (The Lords of Altamont) and singer/drummer Rob Martin (Bliksem), RRRAGS formed in September 2017 and made their explosive live debut at RoadBurn 2018. Since then, they have built a solid reputation through their jam-infused yet song-based live shows.
Having gained significant attention with their previous release, High Protein in 2020, RRRAGS took the time to delve into their inner thoughts and sentiments, leading them to venture into a darker psychedelic direction for their latest project. The result is the mesmerizing double album, Mundi, evidence to their evolution as artists and explorers of sound.
The new album stands as a testament to RRRAGS’ growth and willingness to embrace a more diverse range of influences.
This album is an aural journey through the cosmos, a blend of genres and moods that showcases the band’s versatility and creativity. Drawing inspiration from their personal influences, RRRAGS has crafted a unique experience that takes listeners on a ride through various sonic landscapes.

More info about Mundi
From the fuzzed-up Hendrix-inspired riffs of “Wiped” to the uptempo garage rock meets stoner/doom vibes of “Heart Of The Hive,” “Mundi” showcases a remarkable diversity that keeps listeners engaged throughout. “Light Up The Room” pays homage to the Stooges with a downtempo twist, while “Slavic Heat” takes Celtic Frost to new celestial dimensions.
“Final Word” explores lush psych-pop territory reminiscent of Ty Segall, while “Walkers” and “It Feeds” seamlessly blend motorik/space instrumentals, channelling Neu! and Hawkwind. “Ararat” and “Galactic Strut” offer pure stoner/space jams, allowing RRRAGS to fully embrace their improvisational spirit.
Their musical foundation is built upon legendary bands like Grand Funk Railroad, Budgie, and Blue Cheer. These influences provide the backbone for their sound, which is then layered with their own personal touch, resulting in an electrifying blend that captures the essence of both classic and modern psychedelic rock.
If you’re a fan of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and Ty Segall, Mundi offers a captivating journey into the realm of psych-pop with a dark twist. RAGGGS ability to fuse different genres and create a cohesive sonic universe makes this album a must-listen for anyone seeking a fresh take on psychedelic rock.
With its immersive soundscapes, diverse influences, and electrifying performances, this release solidifies RRRAGS position as a force to be reckoned with in the world of psychedelic rock.
