South African indie-pop favourites Rubber Duc have officially released their long-awaited EP, Old Money – their first full body of work in several years and a project that marks a confident new chapter for the band.

“’Old Money feels authentically Rubber Duc again,” the band shares. “We went back to basics with this project, just jamming together in a room, focusing on feel and chord progressions before the production. It reminded us why we love creating music as a group.”

Rubber Duc is exploring Life, Love, and Identity

The five-track EP features previously released singles “Muhammad Ali” and “Girl Next Door”, each unpacking what it feels like to live and love in a world that’s louder, faster, and more digital than ever.

The title track “Old Money” blends an African-inspired groove with the band’s signature alt-pop sound and quickly became a favourite at live shows. It also marks a rare moment where both Rubber Duc’s original and current saxophonists perform together.

Across Old Money, the band explores themes of identity, distraction, authenticity, and navigating relationships in an era of endless noise.

The songs are honest, warm, and full of the melodic hooks fans have loved since their debut. “This EP is like the best friend who gives advice and the best friend who parties with you,” they add. “We wanted it to be a companion for all the ups and downs of life right now.”

Old Money is out now on all major streaming platforms, delivering the unmistakable Rubber Duc sound with renewed confidence and heartfelt storytelling.
