Sakawa Boys‘ new single “Sorry Brother” is a reflective journey through bonds and mistakes.  The avant-garde musical collective known for their genre-defying sound’s track is available now on all major streaming platforms.

The track offers listeners a poignant reflection on the complexities of relationships and the maturity to own one’s mistakes.

“Sorry Brother” delves into the personal and emotional landscape of the band members, particularly vocalist and guitarist John Seth, who shares, “This song was my way of reflecting on what went wrong between us and our relationships towards the end of the last record. What I could have said or done differently and what was left of our bond as friends.”

More info about Sakawa Boys

Formed in late 2013, Sakawa Boys quickly gained recognition for their distinctive blend of influences, ranging from krautrock to post-punk, indie, and shoegaze.

The band’s name itself, inspired by the infamous Ghanaian email scammers, reflects their fascination with the intersection of old and new superstitions in the digital age.

Their debut album, 2014 Anxiety, released in 2016, marked a pivotal moment for the band. However, as success loomed, internal tensions began to surface, leading to a period of uncertainty and reflection.

John Seth’s departure for Stockholm further strained the band’s dynamic, yet the creative spark between him and guitarist Skye MacInnes continued to flicker, fueling a shared dedication to their craft.

“Sorry Brother” serves as a testament to the enduring bond forged through music, despite the trials and tribulations faced along the way.

John Seth reflects, “Writing music together – particularly music that means something to each of you – is a little like having a shared trauma. We all survived a very shaky period emotionally by holding onto one another.”

With its introspective lyrics and atmospheric soundscapes, “Sorry Brother” encapsulates the essence of Sakawa Boys’ musical evolution and reaffirms their commitment to authenticity and vulnerability.

As Sakawa Boys embark on this new chapter, listeners can expect more introspective explorations and sonic experiments that challenge the boundaries of conventional genres.
