The SaxbyTwins are on fire—and not just metaphorically. Their latest single, “We Lit A Match,” perfectly captures the energy, excitement, and momentum propelling the duo into the next phase of their career.

Fresh off their first international tour, a festival performance in Madeira, and a major performance slot at the Castle Lager Beer Garden during the Springboks’ upcoming home tests, the twins are showing no signs of slowing down.

“It blew us away,” they say of the tour. “Seeing South Africans abroad still showing up to support us was special—but hearing international fans sing our lyrics back? That’s a dream come true.”

A Song About Sparks—Literal and Emotional

“We Lit A Match” is more than a title—it’s a metaphor for the electrifying feeling of connection. The song captures the rush of meeting someone who shifts your entire world.

“It’s about that moment when two people lock eyes and everything changes,” the twins explain. “It’s the thrill of vulnerability—the choice to let someone in, even if you don’t know how it’ll end.”

It’s this emotional honesty, paired with their high-octane delivery, that continues to fuel the SaxbyTwins’ growing fanbase—both in South Africa and abroad.

Big Stages, Bigger Dreams

After their overseas debut, the brothers are more confident than ever that their music belongs on international stages.

“We’ve never had the smoothest path, but we’ve kept showing up. That tour proved we’re ready for more,” they share. “People say ‘impossible,’ we say, ‘let’s try.’”

Next up? A performance slot at the Castle Lager Beer Garden during the Springboks’ home test matches. For the twins, who grew up playing cricket and rugby, it’s a full-circle moment.

“We were born to entertain, and sport has always been part of who we are. Combining the two? That’s a dream. Expect energy, surprises, and GEES.”

What’s Next for the SaxbyTwins?

Looking ahead to the rest of 2025, the twins are teasing the possibility of an EP, more live shows, and a few exciting festival slots still under wraps. Offstage, they’re also leaning into fitness—setting sights on completing a Full Ironman.

“We love sharing the journey, not just the music. It’s about showing people the full picture—growth, passion, and balance.”

With “We Lit A Match” lighting the way, the SaxbyTwins are making it clear: they’re just getting started, and the fire is only getting stronger.
