Global consumer electronics giant TCL is officially stepping into South Africa’s premium laundry segment with the launch of the cutting-edge C5 Laundry Series.
Specifically developed to meet the evolving demands of modern households, the new portfolio includes both a Washer and Dryer Combo and a separate Washer and Dryer Set, seamlessly blending high capacity with intelligent fabric care and advanced hygiene.
Maximum Capacity, Superior Cleaning
The C5 series boasts a massive 540mm Super Drum neatly housed within a standard 600mm appliance body. This extra space allows garments to tumble freely and drop from a greater height, reducing tangles and ensuring a deeper clean. Complementing this is the innovative 3+3 Bionic Lifter system – inspired by the fluid movement of fish fins. By using three full-size and three compact lifters, the system guides clothing in multiple directions for a thoroughly balanced and effective wash.
AI-Powered Convenience
Say goodbye to guessing detergent amounts. The C5 features smart AI Auto Dose technology, which automatically dispenses the precise amount of detergent and softener based on the load size. This prevents unsightly residue on dark clothes and eliminates wasteful detergent use.
Additionally, the range is fully connected. With built-in Wi-Fi, users can manage and monitor their laundry remotely via the TCL Home app. The AI Easy Start function also simplifies the process – allowing users to kick off a dependable Mix program with a simple press and hold of a button, bringing ultimate flexibility to busy family schedules.
Advanced Hygiene and Quiet Durability
Keeping families safe, the integrated Eliminating Bacteria System (EBS™) uses high temperatures and steam to eradicate up to 99.99% of common bacteria, including E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus. This makes it perfect for children’s clothes, bedding, and sensitive skin.
Under the hood, a Smart Direct Drive Motor ensures a quieter, vibration-free operation because it connects directly to the drum without traditional belts. Perfect for open-plan living or late-night washing, TCL backs this durable motor with an impressive 20-year warranty, making the C5 a true long-term household investment.
TCL C5 Series Pricing and Availability
Following TCL’s impressive ranking as the fourth-largest washing machine shipper globally in 2025, the brand is ready to elevate South African homes. The TCL C5 Washer and Dryer Combo, as well as the Washer and Dryer Set, are currently available through Incredible and HiFi Corp, with further retail rollouts expected soon.
