South African singer-songwriter Werner Bekker has released his long-anticipated debut album, Lightwoven—a soul-searching project that delves into the complexities of love, loss, and personal growth. The album is now available on all major digital streaming platforms.
An Album Rooted in Emotion and Healing
Known for his honest songwriting and emotive vocal style, Werner Bekker presents his most intimate work yet with Lightwoven”. The nine-track album blends acoustic warmth with lyrical vulnerability, creating a sonic journey through pain, reflection, and hope.
“This album helped me process what I couldn’t say out loud,” says Bekker. “I hope it does the same for someone else.”

The album features four previously released singles—“Coloured by Thoughts,” “Mood,” “I Can Take It,” and “Goodbye Honey.”
Among the new material, the emotional centrepiece “Compromise” stands out as a poignant meditation on love’s quiet end. Stripped-back and lyrically raw, it reflects the tension between holding on and letting go.
“Some songs take you back. Some take you forward. Others let you be exactly where you are,” Bekker explains. Lightwoven lets time bend. It holds space for what was real and imagines what’s still to come.”
Production and International Reach
Produced by Werner Bekker alongside longtime collaborator Dean Salant, the album delivers an earthy, acoustic sound that is both introspective and empowering.
To support the release, Bekker recently completed a 16-date European tour with performances across Germany, The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, and Iceland.
