What’s Coming to Disney+ in December 2025?
This December sees the return of the Emmy-winning Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The new season arrives with Percy and his crew facing the dangers of the Sea of Monsters as they search for the Golden Fleece to save Camp Half-Blood. Families can expect an adventure that’s as enjoyable after a long day as it is on a lazy Sunday.
Music fans have a major treat lined up too. Taylor Swift closes out the final chapter of her record-shattering Eras tour with an exclusive docuseries arriving 12 December. Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The End of an Era takes viewers behind the scenes for an intimate look at life on the road. On the same day, the concert film Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show lands on Disney+, capturing the entire final performance and the full set of “The Tortured Poets Department”.
Comedy lovers can look forward to Searchlight Pictures’ The Roses (which is already available on Disney+ since 3 December). Starring Olivia Colman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Andy Samberg and Kate McKinnon, the film follows Ivy and Theo Rose as their seemingly perfect lives begin to unravel when their careers move in opposite directions. The result is a sharp, chaotic comedy with all the bite of Joburg traffic in the late afternoon.
Thriller fans get FX’s The Lowdown, led by Ethan Hawke, which follows a citizen journalist who uncovers a story far more dangerous than he ever anticipated.
Football fans aren’t left out. The UEFA Women’s Champions League continues throughout December, perfect for match-day gatherings and living-room commentary sessions.
And with the festive season officially underway, Disney+ becomes the home of holiday comfort viewing. Classics like The Holiday and Home Alone return, along with festive specials including the Outnumbered Christmas Specials landing on 3 December.
Disney+ has lined up a full month of entertainment, from festive favourites to homegrown humour, blockbuster premieres and binge-ready weekends.
