Sonically, the track mirrors Yoshe’s genre-fluid approach to songwriting. “I never write with a genre in mind,” he explains. “I care about sincerity. Something with edge.

Something you can dance to or sit still with.” His diverse musical influences span from Frank Ocean and The Police to Slipknot and Hans Zimmer, and that wide range shines through in the song’s emotional dynamism.

Following five collaborative singles that have amassed over half a million streams, “Oceans” represents a turning point in Yoshe’s career.
