5FM and the Academy of Sound Engineering (ASE) are thrilled to unveil an exciting new collaboration: 5 Listening Sessions, driven by ASE, which will feature South Africa’s most popular and trending artists performing live in an intimate environment.

This initiative not only brings fans closer to their favorite musicians but also nurtures the country’s emerging sound engineering talent.

5FM and ASE

This partnership between 5FM and the Academy of Sound Engineering (ASE) revives a beloved pre-pandemic project, reimagined with a fresh twist

Artists will perform their biggest hits and latest tracks in a personal setting, while sharing insights into the latest updates in their lives and careers. These enhanced 5 Listening Sessions promise a superior level of technical precision and creative connection, elevating the experience for all involved.

The sessions will take place monthly at ASE’s cutting-edge live production venue, SABC Radio Park Studio V1A, with ASE students providing technical support. This hands-on involvement offers students a rare chance to put their training into practice, gaining practical experience that enhances both their skills and the overall production quality for 5FM listeners.

This revitalized collaboration between 5FM and ASE reflects a shared dedication to pushing boundaries. By combining advanced technology and industry know-how, both partners aim to produce impactful content and unforgettable sessions that benefit 5FM’s audience, ASE’s students, and the broader music community.
