Good news Ladies and Gentlemen, a new country anthem entitled “Keep on Kickin” has just dropped. Over the years, Jamie Hendry and Justin Serrao have built a great friendship fueled by shared interests and a mutual love for all things country.
While the idea of writing a song together had come up many times, busy schedules always got in the way – until one afternoon when Justin casually phoned to announce he had booked a full-day studio session at Sunset Studios in Stellenbosch for the following morning, located around 1,300 kilometers away.
Following last-minute flight plans and some serious hustle, Jamie flew down to Cape Town, met Justin at the studio, and by the end of the day, their new collaboration “Keep On Kickin” was born.
A Story of Friendship and Bad Advice
“Keep On Kickin” tells the story of two friends: one who appears to be searching for love in all the wrong places, and the other who is always there to offer support, buy another drink, and provide some fairly average advice.

Based in Johannesburg, Jamie is the lead singer and co-founder of the southern country-rock band Jasper Dan, which he formed in 2015. Known for scoring five number-one singles on South African top 40 radio charts, he balances his music career with a passion for property development and family.

Justin represented South African country music globally in 2023 as a contestant on the Apple TV+ series “My Kind of Country.” Having opened for international acts like The Pixies and Seether, and completed four UK tours, he also runs YYY Shows, which organizes between 80 and 120 shows nationwide per month.
