Ben Dey announces ‘In Flow’ album

Ben Dey eagerly announces the release date of his much-anticipated solo debut album ‘In Flow’ – due November 26^th – and he unveils ‘Natural Mystic (Olly Vans Studio Mix)’ as the first single from the album, which is out today. Along with the release of the single, he also makes the album available for pre-save HERE.

Born in the rural villages of Limpopo, ‘In Flow’ is defining work for Ben Dey. ‘In Flow’ embraces Sepedi folklore, bringing light to a rich culture and people. Roots of reggae, folk, soul and flow house hug in harmony, pioneering a sound, unique and endemic to the African continent.

Ben’s cover of Bob Marley’s ‘Natural Mystic’ is the first track to be released from the forthcoming album. During Ben’s stay in Limpopo, he worked with a team of local producers and artists to create the album. Although ‘In Flow’ is a solo journey from Ben’s band the ‘Concrete Lions’, the album is collaborative. On each song, Ben features a producer or artist he worked with.

We had a lot of fun on this. Nothing felt. labored or forced. We found a flow.”

The release of the ‘Natural Mystic’ is accompanied with any equally captivating music video. Filmed by Richard Gorven in Limpopo, the music video aims to pay tribute to Bob Marley. “We shot things we thought Bob would enjoy”, says Ben. After recording Natural Mystic at Olly Vans Studios earlier in the year, Ben decided to add it to his album as a bonus track.
