The making of the video for “Nocturnes” has all of the love and talent that BLVD HVNNY could wish for. From the brilliant direction of Brad Devine, the breathtaking cinematography by Gavin Pincus, and the perfect performance from the beautiful Bianca Blanc right through to the awe-inspiring location of the Ponte building – the final result is a true work of art!

Cito comments on “Nocturnes”

“The song was written one afternoon, inspired by the love my wife and I share with the dancefloor and our mutual fondness for dark, beautiful music.”

“Nocturnes” is a timeless, tragic love story of a man who is obsessively searching for his one and only love. Built on memories and dreams, the search is never ending. He sells his soul so that he could transcend time and, supernaturally, lives forever.

Miraculously, he eventually finds his muse and briefly reunites with her, only to discover that she has been luring him all this time, to conquer and devour his spirit. Now, he is stuck in this maddening web of frustration and torture – until eternity…

Cito is the enigmatic South African rock icon who sets stages on fire with his award-winning, festival-headlining, chart-topping band WONDERboom. Side-projects, Absinthè and El Cantante have allowed him to expand his musical horizons.  He has also seduced audiences in theatre productions like Jesus Christ Superstar, CHESS and Queen at the Ballet and cameoed on screen in the TV Series Black Sails.

And now he’s spiralling into exquisitely sculpted darkness, embracing his deepest self, exploring the shadows and fusing goth with industrial and electronic sounds that haunt long after the song plays out. Brooding. Achingly intoxicating. Sometimes thrashing, sometimes sighing … Cito is BLVD HVNNY.

“Nocturnes” is an amazing tune and the music video is truly a work of art. The songs sounds like it would sound if Trent Rentzor and Nick Cave had a baby and it recorded a song. It really does.
