Legends Brewery will be selling their brews at the 2019 edition of Capital Craft Beer Festival this weekend in Pretoria. I had a chat to the folks behind the brewery. This is what they had to say…
How did it all start for Legends Brewery?
Legends Brewery began as some research for an assignment for a course in Entrepreneurship and New Ventures, where we realised the beer loving folk of Pretoria are becoming more curious by the day and the revolution that was in full swing in and around Cape Town would come rolling inland soon. It was time for our group of curious craft beer drinking friends to rise up and help grow this new industry.
What is your favourite drinking song and why?
“Cheers (Drink to That)” by Rihanna. The best beers are the ones shared with your best mates, and that’s more than enough reason for a toast!
What is your favourite quote about beer?
“Beer doesn’t have a lot of vitamins, so you have to drink a lot of it”
Why should punters sample your brews at Capital Craft Beer Festival?
Our standard line up boasts a range of super sessionable brews, each with a distinct local twist. They appeal to the weekend athlete fresh off the field and beer nerd searching for that elusive brew alike, and will have you coming back for more every time.
Which brew do you recommend and why?
Our Melktert Stout is an easy drinking milk stout with a vanilla and cinnamon infusion, carbed with Nitrogen to enhance the creamy head. This unique local taste twist would have your grandma proudly pin her melk tart gold ribbon award to your pint.
For those who enjoy mixing it up our ever popular Gin Ice Tea will come to the party as well. It’s a refreshing burst of ice tea, crafted with gin, that appeals to gin lovers and cider drinkers.
What can we expect from you at the 2019 edition of Capital Craft Beer Festival?
We’re bringing our A-game with TWO leaderboard style competitions (down-downs and stein hoisting) with some amazing prizes up for grabs, and we’re packing our beerpong tables in for our festival regulars to come challenge one another at a round or two. Just for fun we’re throwing a keg of Stardust, our *glitter* *beer*, into the mix as well. It’s a FESTIVAL, after all!
I’d like to thank the okes from Legends Brewery for this interview and I wish them all of the best at Capital Craft 2019.
