The television industry is in a constant state of evolution, driven by technological advancements that redefine how we experience entertainment.

TCL Electronics, a global leader in consumer electronics and the No. 1 Mini LED TV brand worldwide, continues to lead this innovation wave with the launch of its All-Domain Halo Control technology—now available in South Africa for the first time.

TCL All-domain Halo-Control

What Is All-Domain Halo Control?

TCL’s All-Domain Halo Control represents a breakthrough in Mini LED backlighting technology. This proprietary, full-stack innovation controls every element of light output within the television, from the Mini LED chips to the image displayed on screen.

The technology is designed to eliminate haloing (or blooming)—the common light bleed seen around bright objects on dark backgrounds.

Built into TCL’s 2025 QD-Mini LED TVs, this technology features:

  • Ultra-efficient LED chips that increase brightness while conserving energy
  • Micro-OD (Optical Distance) structures that place LEDs closer to the screen, improving light precision and reducing leakage
  • Advanced micro-lenses for pinpoint light direction
  • AI-driven light control algorithms for real-time scene optimization
  • Premium HVA panels offering deeper blacks, wider viewing angles, and up to five times the native contrast of standard LCDs

Why This Matters for South African Viewers

South African homes often have bright living spaces and multi-user family rooms, which present unique challenges for display performance. TCL’s All-Domain Halo Control directly addresses these challenges, offering:

  • Reduced haloing and blooming, ideal for high-contrast content like sports or thrillers
  • Deeper blacks and brighter highlights for an enhanced cinematic feel
  • Wide viewing angles, ensuring everyone sees the same vibrant image from anywhere on the couch
  • Consistent brilliance in any lighting condition, thanks to adaptive brightness control
  • High refresh rates (up to 144Hz) and smooth motion rendering for gaming and sports enthusiasts

A Statement from TCL South Africa

“At TCL, we are passionate about driving innovation that transforms everyday experiences, and we’re proud to be at the forefront of introducing advanced display technologies like All-Domain Halo Control to South African consumers,” says Mike Chen, General Manager of TCL South Africa.

“This technology represents a significant leap forward in TV performance—especially for bright and dynamic home environments like we have here. Our QD-Mini LED TVs offer unmatched contrast, clarity, and control, giving families a truly cinematic experience at home.”

Available Now on the TCL C6K Model

The All-Domain Halo Control technology is available now in South Africa on TCL’s C6K QD-Mini LED TV, sold at leading retailers nationwide.

It joins the brand’s growing suite of advanced TV features, which includes Dolby Vision and Atmos, Google TV integration, and next-gen Mini LED technology.
