South African singer and songwriter Dan Duminy has just released his latest single, “Favors,” featuring fellow artist and close friend Tellaman.
This new track, brimming with heartfelt melodies and a nostalgic feel, highlights the natural chemistry between two of the country’s leading R&B and pop talents. Their friendship, which spans years, brings an added depth to their collaboration.
“I’ve always admired Tellaman’s work,” says Dan. “When I created ‘Favors’ in Los Angeles, I sent it to him, and the energy was immediate. We vibed together, shared ideas, and the song naturally took shape.”
The creation of “Favors” was a true collaborative journey. Starting with a simple melody, they layered atmospheric sounds and worked on lyrics that echo the track’s deeper themes.
“We wanted to capture a nostalgic, introspective vibe that listeners can connect with,” Dan explains. “Keeping the emotions genuine was essential for us.”
At its heart, “Favors” explores themes of nostalgia, love, and self-discovery. Inspired by personal relationships and past experiences, Dan delves into the memories and emotions that shape our identity.
“The song is about embracing both the highs and lows, the moments that help us grow, and the vulnerability that comes with it,” he shares.

For Dan Duminy, 2024 has been a milestone year, marked by his journey into independence, releasing new music, and touring with Neon Dreams. “Traveling to Japan and filming a music video abroad were definitely highlights,” he says. Collaborating with Tellaman on “Favors” has made this year even more memorable.
As he wraps up 2024, Dan Duminy is focused on his mental and physical health, with exciting plans for 2025: expanding his global reach, releasing his debut EP and album, and exploring fresh sounds and genres. “I’m thrilled for what’s to come and grateful for all the support,” says Dan.
