Let’s face it folks, the PSY song entitled “Gangnam Style” has taken the world by storm. I’ll admit that I’m not a fan of the song, but I’ll admit that I have been wondering what “Gangnam Style” in Hatfield Square would be like. It’s just one of those songs that you can’t get out of your head when you start listening to it.
More info about Gangnam Style
The original “Gangnam Style” music video has had more than 276 million views on YouTube. For those of you that did not know, PSY is actually a rapper (who happens to be born in the same year as me) from South Korea. PSY is actually a singer-songwriter, model, rapper, dance musician and record producer by profession. That’s a mouthful for someone who came up “Gangnam Style” if you ask me.
I have never had the guts or the motivation to learn or do the “Gangnam” Style dance, but my good friend @BaasDeBeer has. He had support of his coach Flits Venter (who actually learned it from PSY). He recently had a training session and did Gangnam Style in Hatfield Square.
What do you think of this clip? Does this clip inspire you to do the Gangnam Style in Hatfield Square or another public location like the area around your office water-cooler ?
Do you think it’s silly, funny or downright stupid? Drop me a comment on this post and let me know, I’d like to hear your thoughts. Do yourself a favor and go check out Baas De Beer’s Blog, he does post interesting things regularly.
PS: The video was shot and edited by notorious Pretoria photographer Jacques Coetzer (@jaczer_SA on Twitter). And yes, Flits Venter is actually Bouwer Bosch (@BouwerBosch on Twitter) from Straatligkinders (if you didn’t figure that out earlier)
