Formed in Burlington, Ontario (in Canada) in 2000, Silverstein has spent over two decades cementing their legacy as one of the most enduring and influential forces in modern post-hardcore and emo.
Led by charismatic frontman Shane Told, the band helped define a generation of heavy music by seamlessly blending aggressive, driving guitar riffs and crushing breakdowns with soaring, melodic hooks and deeply emotive lyricism.
Named after Shel Silverstein, the beloved author of children’s books and poetry whom the members admired during their youth, Silverstein quickly rose to prominence during the mid-2000s emo and post-hardcore boom.
