Great News! Hide your raccoons, Gremlins (or other furry living or non-living creatures), the “Haedes Felines” (AKA Hellcats) are back with a brand new single! The track is fittingly entitled “Sugar” (cause it’s a SWEET friggin’ breath of rock ‘n roll into the lungs that are the SA Music Scene), It was released on the 29th of July 2022.

In case you were wondering, “Sugar” is actually a dark and deadly tale. The tale involves a serial killer and a woman chained to a bed in the basement. It’s pure, dark, balls-to-the-wall, in-your-face rock ‘n roll. Plain and simple. The track is actually the first single off Hellcats second studio album (which is in the pipeline).
The video (which was beautifully shot) was directed by Kyle Lewis and sponsored by Jagermeister. It’s a piece of dark art (in my books anyways)- Check it out below:
“Sugar” is proof that SA rock is alive and well and that Hellcats are definitely a rock ‘n roll force of note. This duo have come a long way since I caught their first show at the Arcade Empire in late 2014 and I’m curious to find out how awesome their mind-numbingly awesome blend of rock ‘n roll is going to sound on their second studio album. I’m preparing my oortjies for an eargazm so long.
