James Deacon has revealed his latest single ‘WoW’. The track is all about letting go of inhibitions and embracing the chaos! “WoW” is a track designed for stadiums, all about taking shots at the plethora of vapid soulless people out there. This is a new sonic chapter for Deacon as he truly explores his wild side.
SAMA nominated James Deacon returns off the back of a Worldwide sync campaign with BMW (2023 electric vehicle range) with his previous collaboration with Parov Stelar “Future”.
James Deacon delivers a fresh, new energy with his latest release “WoW” as he takes us on a sonic journey of unadulterated self-expression. The thumping bass and modern 808s help to make “WoW” a thoroughly contagious banger.
Chops and Samples seem to flow in and out creating a quirky lo-fi DIY atmosphere where Deacons’ vocals maintain a resilience and defiance to conform, both in the tonal realm and layered within the hard-hitting lyrics.
James Deacon explains
“There’s a line in the chorus: ‘Lemme see your hands in the air, is anybody else out there?’ And that’s just my way of shining a light on how lonely it can be trying to force feed people your music against their will, whilst half the world tries to do the same thing.”
“You know the countless nights spent broke, broken, beaten up and alone in your room trying to piece together your sanity and reasoning for why you’re even here in the first place.”

James’ previous singles received online support from lauded sites Complex, Record of The Day, Earmilk and CLASH, and were playlisting on Passport Approved, an independent internationally syndicated tastemaker import radio show that airs on over 50 radio stations and six continents worldwide.
HBO selected his single “Son Of Apollo” to soundtrack an 8-week movie promo campaign in America, and his music has featured on TV series like Good Trouble and The Rookie and charted on South Africa’s biggest radio stations including 5FM, 947, KFM. The anticipation around “Home” is palpable and warranted as James is poised to spread his musical message globally.
