Matthew Mole Releases New Single: “See Me Again”

South Africa’s favourite indie-folk star Matthew Mole is taking no time to rest as he drops yet another commercial smash hit, “See Me Again.”

Matthew’s current single (“Good Things”) is still a firm favourite on his touring schedule as a beautiful tribute to his fans and an ode to patience in the face of uncertainty, all wrapped up in a stripped-down lullaby.

Yet, despite the fact that the track is still receiving huge love across digital platforms and on social media, Matthew is eager to bring back the energy and spirit that has made him one of South Africa’s biggest festival headliners  – and See Me Again speaks straight to the heart of every one of his fans.

Matthew Mole - See Me Again

With “See Me Again” Matthew returns to the pop danceability and indie edge that remains his signature sound, with uplifting lyrics delivered amongst multi-layered harmonies, complementing a driving beat and the smart use of musicianship that one has come to expect from this diverse multi-instrumentalist.

While this track is the perfect track to push you towards the dancefloor, the message doesn’t stray too far from Matthew’s hopeful and positive thinking that has become somewhat of a modus operandi in his creation process.

Matthew Mole comments on “See Me Again”

“The track speaks to the idea of perseverance and not giving up – something I had to learn a lot about before the song came out”

However, the lyrics are relatable enough to be interpreted as either a reminder for strength or perhaps even a love song, landing just in the right place for fans to take and mould to their own situations.

“See Me Again” was recorded in a hotel room in Cape Town with producer and friend Rusti, with Matthew Mole contributing all the instruments and vocal layers.

Being conceived, written, and recorded organically in between his international and local gigging, relentless creating and active social media content creation, the track has found its way to being lauded as the next big single in an already prolific run of releases in 2023, including the tracks “Countryside” and “Good Things”.

As Matthew Mole’s social media starts to light up with love for the new track, fans will be able to see it performed live very soon, as “See Me Again” drops on all streaming platforms today.

This has to be one of the coolest upbeat tracks that I’ve heard in 2023. I’m curious to find out what Matthew Mole is going to throw our way in the near future.
