RAD Experience (a live music venue in Centurion, Gauteng) opened its doors in 2015. Since then it has established itself as one of the most-go-to live venues in Pretoria’s Southern region.
On Fiday the 29th of January 2015 stellar South African solo artist, Francois Van Coke played a gig at RAD and I have to admit that we really had a fun time. It’s amazing how much he has accomplished in the last year with his solo career and I’m looking forward to hearing more new music from him.
Francois wasn’t the only artist on the bill and I was quite impressed by newcomers Friends With Leaves and Nick May (both acts that have “grown up” thanks to Sunday’s Open Mic sessions at Aandklas). Both acts are still rough around the edges, but there’s definitely potential if you ask me. And let’s not forget about The Lectric Monks, a folk rock band that will have you singing and dancing along in no time. Make sure that you catch them at this year’s Mieliepop festival if you’re going to be there, you won’t be disappointed.
Here are some photos that I took of the opening acts (Friends With Leaves, Nick May, The Lectric Monks):
