Australian duo Pierce Brothers To Return To South Africa

Australian duo and twins, Pierce Brothers, will return to SA in April and Joburg fans will be excited to hear that they’ll be performing live at the Copper Bar in Bryanston on Wednesday the 5th of April. Tickets are on sale now and available through Howler. Tickets will set you back R295 (excluding booking fees).

Pierce Brothers won over South African hearts when they first toured SA back in 2018, performing at Splashy Fen Festival in KZN (yes, they are returning to it 2023) and Lush Festival in Clarens. Five years later and they are incredibly excited to be coming back.

Patrick Pierce, one half of the Pierce Brothers, comments on announcing their first headline show in SA at Copper Bar on the 5th of April

“It’s been 5 years since we came to South Africa for the first time, and it was one of the best tours of our lives. We’ve been itching to get back ever since, and we are so stoked to be playing our first headline show on the continent!!”

For those who still have to experience Pierce Brothers live, they’re in for a sensational performance. Stuart Berry, organiser of Splashy Fen in KZN recalls their debut performance at the festival

“Back in 2018, The Pierce Brothers arrived at Splashy as an unknown Australian entity. Very few people at Splashy had ever listened to or been exposed to their music before. What happened next was truly special to see. Within 2 songs, they had 6 000 people just eating out of their hands in front of the main stage. It was to this day one of the most organically special moments at Splashy that I have experienced. Their live set still stands out as one of the best I have ever seen.”

Jack Pierce of the memorable performance

“Splashy Fen holds a very special place in our heart. The festival, audience and our set were so wild and we can’t wait to do it all again!”

More info about Pierce Brothers

For years twin brothers Jack and Patrick Pierce’s high energy duo Pierce Brothers has been a staple of the Australian indie-folk/ blues & roots scene. Exploding onto the world stage in 2014, the brothers started their journey as buskers on Bourke Street (alongside other incredible busking acts Tash Sultana and Tones and I), and soon became a must-see act. Having established themselves as an integral part of the music scene in Australia and abroad, the brothers have toured relentlessly.

The band’s music has grown with them and has seen them release a top 15 ARIA debut album and two Top 10 ARIA EPs as well as amassing over 30 million global streams. The pair lived out their dream of headlining a maxed-out Forum Theatre in their hometown of Melbourne, before taking on a massive world tour, headlining venues all over the globe, playing arenas supporting Tash Sultana, as well as massive AAA festivals in North America, Europe, and Australia.

During the 2020 lockdown the boys retreated into the studio for 6 weeks and recorded the album, ‘Into The Great Unknown’. The album explores previously uncharted territory for the twins.

Pierce Brothers kicked off 2022 with a brand-new single ‘When It All Goes Away’, co-written with Garrett Kato, followed by an affecting indie-pop ballad ‘How Sweet Is This Love’ featuring Steph Strings, the follow up uplifting release of “The Captive” produced by Jan Skubiszewski.

2023 is placed to be even bigger with the release of the epic single ‘High & Unsteady’ co-written, recorded and produced by platinum award winning, producer, engineer, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Tash Sultana.
