Ross Learmonth Drop Feel-Good Anthem ‘Ready To Dance’

After a year of growth and creative renewal, Ross Learmonth is back with a fresh burst of energy in his new single “Ready To Dance”, now available on all streaming platforms. The track captures the spirit of freedom and evolution that’s defined his solo journey.

“It’s one of those rare songs where the lyrics and music arrived together,” Ross explains. “By the time the chorus came around, it just wrote itself – ‘I’m just ready to dance.’ It felt right with how the song was moving.”

From Acoustic Spark to Stage Energy

What started as a stripped-back acoustic idea soon evolved into something much bigger. Ross Learmonth first tested “Ready To Dance” live, adding it to a setlist on a whim – and the crowd reaction was instant. “It slammed,” he laughs. “That’s when I knew it was time to bring it to life properly.”

He reunited with producers Rusti and Tristan from Chasing Fantasia to craft the final version, working remotely across borders. “It’s different working from afar,” he says, “but it brings a new energy and perspective to the music.”

Sonically, “Ready To Dance” builds and soars – shifting from a smooth groove to an explosive crescendo. “It starts off cruising and ends like a rocket ship,” Ross says. “It’s a journey – by the end, you can’t help but move.”

More Than a Feel-Good Anthem

While the title might suggest a carefree dance track, there’s a deeper emotional pulse beneath it. “I want people to feel moved – not just to dance,” Ross Learmonth shares. “There are moments in this song that feel so free and exhilarating to me, and I hope listeners experience that too.”

A Year of Milestones and Momentum

“Ready To Dance” follows a standout year for Ross, marked by major performances at RMB Starlight Classics, Kirstenbosch Gardens, The Goo Goo Dolls’ SA tour, and The SA Soundwave Festival in Cyprus alongside The Parlotones and Arno Carstens.

“This year has been a rollercoaster, but the one constant has been the music,” he reflects. “Releasing new songs consistently over the last 18 months has been a huge highlight.”

Finding Balance and Freedom

Stepping into a solo career after two decades with a band has been both challenging and transformative. “The biggest lesson has been realizing you’re only as strong as your team,” he says. “At first, it felt isolating, but having the right people around me has made all the difference.”

Now, Ross Learmonth says he’s at his healthiest – emotionally, physically, and creatively. “I’ve got a new song in my pocket and feel incredibly blessed,” he says. “December’s looking exciting with an announcement coming soon, and there are already amazing shows lined up for next year, both in South Africa and abroad.”

A Quiet Personal Triumph

Beyond the music, Ross is celebrating another milestone – five years of sobriety this January. “It’s something I never thought would be possible,” he admits. “I’ve learned new ways to elevate and ‘cheers’ the moment, without losing myself in it.”

A New Chapter for Ross Learmonth

If Ross had to sum up this chapter in three words: “Daunting. Freeing. Rewarding.” With “Ready To Dance”, he’s not just moving to a new rhythm – he’s stepping fully into the artist, the person, and the joy he was always meant to embody.
