The SPAR Carols By Candlelight Presented By Jacaranda FM lit up the SunBet Arena in Menlyn once again, delivering a packed house, show-stopping performances, and a powerful fundraising effort that carried festive cheer well beyond the venue.
Families, friends, and music lovers gathered for an evening of classic Christmas favourites and holiday magic, all while supporting communities in need.
SPAR Carols By Candlelight: A Night of Standout Performances
This year’s line-up brought the house down with performances from Elandré, Lee Cole, Zoë Modiga, BlackByrd, Just 6, Ruan du Toit, Charlize Berg, Lloyd Cele, Jesse Clegg, and the always uplifting Ndlovu Youth Choir. Each act delivered heartfelt renditions of festive staples that had the crowd singing along.
Jacaranda FM’s DJs kept the energy high throughout the night, connecting with fans and bringing that familiar warmth that defines this annual celebration.
Nearly One Million Rand Raised for Communities in Need
With over 7,000 tickets sold out ahead of time, the event raised an impressive R927,216 for charity. The contributions created real festive magic:
- 1,200 children received Santa Shoeboxes valued at R600,000
- 192 staff members were gifted SPAR hampers worth R67,200
- Thirteen children’s homes and organisations received R20,000 each as part of Good Morning Angels’ 20-year celebration, totalling R260,000
In total, the initiative supported 24 communities across four provinces, capturing the true meaning of giving.

More than 10,000 people watched the livestream, and fans will have another chance to enjoy the concert on 24 December. The full event will be rebroadcast all day on www.jacarandafm.com, offering the ideal soundtrack for Christmas Eve preparations.
