“We all long for that honeymoon phase in love, whether it’s with someone new or reigniting sparks in a long-term relationship. It’s about that exhilarating beginning, where the person you’re falling for doesn’t yet know all your secrets, and you’re discovering each other, layer by layer.” she says.
Recorded in Cape Town, South Africa, this single marks an exciting genre shift for The Bird, blending her alternative folk roots with a touch of country. Known for her songs that explore life’s emotional complexities,
The Bird released her debut EP Crossroads earlier this year, a record that resonates with her personal journey through love, loss, and resilience
With soulful tracks like “Bhodi Khaya”, inspired by a retreat that helped her navigate grief and personal growth, Crossroads established The Bird as an authentic voice in South African music.
