Just like the colors of the sky at sunset, the combination of Veronica Fusaro‘s words and music feel bittersweet – thrilled about the falling of the night but sad about the leaving of the sun.
The words make a great contrast to the sound, or as Veronica says „I like to wrap sad emotions in colorful paper“.
Veronica Fusaro (who hails from Switzerland) will be playing at On The Lawn at Marks Park in Johannesburg this weekend (on Saturday the 3rd of December 2022).
She will be part of an awesome line-up which includes Matthew Mole, Desmond & The Tutus, Neon Dreams and WIll Linley.

I had a quick chat with Veronica Fusaro, this is what she had to say
You must be excited to come to South Africa for the first time, what are you most looking forward to?
I am very very much excited! Can’t wait to touch base for the first time ever in Johannesburg. I’m most excited about just being able to meet new people, perform my songs at the festival, and I heard the food is really great. I’m just looking forward to be there and getting to experience a little bit of South Africa!
What is the funniest thing you’ve experienced while being on tour?
I once played a show in Singapore, and our flight was so late that as soon as we landed we got on a cab, went to the venue and I pretty much walked on stage right when I got there. In the moment it was pretty stressful but looking back it was really funny and surreal. I really felt like a rockstar in that moment.

What can audiences expect from Veronica Fusaro at On The Lawn?
People can expect a fully live concert. I’ll be playing with my guitars and my loopstation, singing stripped-down versions of my songs. There’s gonna be dancey as well as quiet moments – but really I find it best to experience music instead of trying to describe it, so everybody should come down and listen to the other artists and I! 🙂

I would like to thank Veronica Fusaro for this quick chat and I wish her all of the best with her future musical endeavors.

Veronica Fusaro’s debut album is on it’s way, full of organic and raw sounds, honest lyrics and a unique, intriguing voice that skillfully balances between the depth and playfulness of her music: pure, powerful and intimate.
