Multi-award-winning artist and humanitarian Abel Chungu Musuka is back with his deeply introspective new single, “Imperfect”—a heartfelt blend of R&B, Soul, and Soft Rock that celebrates love in its most authentic, beautifully flawed form.
The inspiration for the song came from a simple yet powerful moment at a wedding. “I overheard someone speaking negatively about the bride, but it didn’t matter—she was chosen. That moment shaped the song,” Abel shares.
The realization that love is about embracing someone despite their imperfections became the foundation of “Imperfect.”
Debuting on The Chill Factor on Metro FM this past weekend, the single was brought to life through a collaboration with renowned producer Mag 44, pianist Sam Nyambe and Laz, and bassist Shabz.
The project not only showcases African musical excellence but also revives the art of storytelling through music—delivering a deeply emotional experience for hopeless romantics.

A seasoned artist with a passion for both music and humanitarian work, Abel Chungu Musuka has made a lasting impact.
His hit single “Extra Time” earned Best R&B Song at the Kwacha Music Awards, and his philanthropic efforts have been recognized with an African Achievement Award in Seattle, as well as a Humanitarian Award for his work with orphans and children battling cancer.
Born in Lusaka and raised across New York and Oklahoma, Abel’s global experiences have shaped both his perspective and his sound. His love for music started at the age of 12 when his older brother, Damien, introduced him to the studio, pushing him to refine his songwriting skills.
With influences like Brian McKnight—whom he had the honor of meeting in his home country—Abel continues to dream big. “I’d love to work with Sun-El Musician, and my dream collaboration? Kanye West—because with him, there are no limits to creativity.”
As he gears up for more releases leading to his highly anticipated album, “Imperfect” marks the start of an exciting new chapter—one that reminds us that true love isn’t about perfection but about choosing someone wholeheartedly, flaws and all.
