aKING are back with a new single. The Runaround is the first track to be released off the upcoming aKING album,Red Blooded Years (which is scheduled for release on the 1st of March 2011). aKING are definately one of the hottest South African rock acts around (in my opinion). I’ve seen them live at least 7 times over the least 2-3 years. I saw them live a few weeks ago at the Pre Jool Party at Trademarx (near Loftus Versfeld) in Pretoria. aKING seem to be getting better and better at playing live gigs each time I see them perform.
qIf you do not own their albums, you should definitely make a point of buying them. They are one of the must-listen-to South African bands. I’m really looking forward to their new album. The Runaround can be downloaded for free on the Rhythm Music Store website. aKING will be playing at the Bassline in Melville (as part of the Johannesburg leg of Campus Invasion) on the 18th of February, at Firkin in Centurion on the 24th of February, at Cool Runnings in Fourways on the 25th of February, at the Bilton Wine Farm Theatre in Stellenbosch on the 9th of March, at the Fugard Theatre in Cape Town on the 10th of March, at Vredefest 2011 in Edenvale on the 25th of March and Vredefest 2011 in Hatfield Square on the 26th of March. Get off your butt and make your way to one of these gigs. You will not be disappointed.
