Baby Yoda has been made famous by the internet and it’s all thanks to the new Star Wars Web Series, The Mandalorian.

We don’t know that Baby Yoda‘s real name is (yet). All we know is that he looks like Yoda is that even though he’s so tiny, he’s actually 50 years old.

This creature was introduced at the end of The Mandalorian’s first episode. Since then it has become an instant and indelible pop-culture phenomenon. Baby Yoda has already fueled GIFs, a fan-made Twitter account, YouTube theory videos, TikTok musical riffs and fevered Reddit speculation.

Take note that The Mandalorian can only be streamed legally via Disney+ (which is not available in South Africa at this time). Sadly, the only way to watch it in Mzansi is to download it illegally or to use one of those illegal TV streaming websites.

Disney+ launched in the USA, Canada and The Netherlands on the 12th of November. More than 10 million people joined the streaming service on the day of its launch. A week later it was expanded to Australia, New Zealand and Puerto Rico.

The service will be expanded to select European countries in March 2020 and further expansions are planned for Europe and Latin America in late 2020 through 2021. Sadly there are no plans for expansion into Africa yet though. I guess we’ll just have to wait…
