Dr Skaro, the musical force from Tzaneen, has officially released his long-anticipated EP titled Modimo ke Bosso.
The nine-track project is an honest, energetic, and spiritually anchored offering that captures the heart of Limpopo’s emerging sound, Lekompo, while marking a major milestone in Dr Skaro’s journey as a musician and cultural voice.

At the centre of the EP is the title track, “Modimo ke Bosso”, a bold statement of faith relaying a story of triumph. In the song, Dr Skaro reflects on his come-up, narrating how some ridiculed him when he first entered the music scene and even now, as he continues to pursue greatness.
The song is a declaration of gratitude, to God, who he says deserves all the credit for every door that has opened. It’s a victory song wrapped in rich Sepedi expression and laid over vibrant dance-floor-ready production.
Among the standout tracks on the EP is “Lepotlelo”, a previously released single featuring Memie and Mr Brown, which gained impressive traction on social media. The track’s continued momentum is testament to Dr Skaro’s ability to make music that resonates well beyond the studio.
Championing the Lekompo Sound
With this project, Dr Skaro once again proves why he is considered an upcoming talent in the Lekompo sound — a musical movement that blends traditional Sepedi musicality, house, amapiano textures, and irresistibly catchy hooks.
His previous collaborations with fellow Limpopo talents like Makhadzi, Mukosi, CK the DJ, and Budaza MuziQ have solidified his reputation as a collaborator who not only uplifts but also contributes meaningfully to this growing market with every release.
Modimo ke Bosso isn’t just a personal celebration, it’s a cultural artefact. It arrives at a time when Limpopo’s young musicians are stepping into the spotlight with boldness, and Dr Skaro is undeniably at the front of that wave.
Lekompo, once considered hyper-local, is now on the verge of national – if not international – crossover. Much like how Amapiano began in townships before becoming a continental and global phenomenon, this sound carries that same energy and locally-rooted pride.
Dr Skaro is extending a Limpopo Legacy
Artists like Shandesh have helped lay the foundation for this unique Limpopo-born genre, and now Dr Skaro is extending that legacy with this polished, relatable, and energetic body of work.
The Modimo ke Bosso EP reminds us that every underdog has a story, every rhythm carries a message, and sometimes, the most authentic sound is the one rooted in where you come from. In this case, it’s Limpopo – loud, proud, and rising.
