Majozi Releases New EP: “Flannel Music”

Majozi is back with fresh music, delivering a warm and reflective new release that feels tailor-made for quiet moments and long drives.

The beloved South African singer-songwriter has unveiled his brand-new EP, Flannel Music, a four-track collection built around nostalgia, simplicity, and the kind of heartfelt storytelling that has become his trademark.

Majozi

Flannel Music Brings Comfort and Connection

Now available on all major streaming platforms, Flannel Music features the 2025 fan-favourite single “You and I” alongside three new tracks, including the latest radio single, “A Long Time Ago.”

Together, the songs create a cohesive listening experience that leans into sincerity and emotional connection rather than overproduction or flashy moments.

For Majozi, the idea behind the EP was simple: create music that feels familiar and comforting. He describes the project as something listeners can return to again and again, much like a favourite flannel shirt that carries memories and personal meaning.

The songs themselves were written during a period of travel and self-reflection, giving the project an added sense of perspective. Spending time away from home allowed him to revisit memories and recognise how small, everyday experiences often shape the bigger picture.

Inspired by Travel and Time Away From Home

Much of Flannel Music took shape while Majozi was performing internationally. Being in unfamiliar environments created space for deeper reflection, influencing both the themes and emotional tone of the songs.

There’s a clear sense of looking backward while continuing to move forward. The music captures that strange but familiar feeling of distance sharpening memories, turning ordinary moments into meaningful ones.

The EP also arrives shortly after Majozi returned to South Africa on 23 March, wrapping up his Old School Tri-Nations Tour. The tour ran from December 2025 through March 2026, taking him across South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia, and marking his first-ever performances in both New Zealand and Australia.

A Milestone Period for Majozi

The release of Flannel Music follows a particularly busy and rewarding period in Majozi’s career. During 2025, he reached several notable milestones, including a sold-out show at the Baxter Theatre, a European tour alongside Easy Freak, and performances in cities across Europe and Abu Dhabi.

Despite the growing international exposure, his music continues to focus on authenticity and emotional connection. That grounding influence remains central to his sound, regardless of how far the journey takes him.

Finding Meaning in the Quiet Moments

At its heart, Flannel Music celebrates the moments that often go unnoticed at the time but later become the memories that matter most. The songs reflect on relationships, personal growth, and the subtle shifts that shape life over time.

Rather than chasing big, dramatic statements, Majozi leans into the in-between moments – the quiet reflections, the lingering memories, and the slow movement toward whatever comes next.

With Flannel Music, Majozi once again proves that sometimes the simplest songs leave the strongest impression.
